Black Opium Pink Glaze

Black Opium Pink Glaze arrived in 2014 as a limited flanker to YSL's coffee-vanilla original, and collectors tend to file it under the softer, fruitier end of the Black Opium line. The opening is bright and slightly tart: pear and pink pepper over orange blossom, giving a pink, glazed impression before the heart turns. That heart is where the DNA shows — coffee and jasmine, with bitter almond and licorice adding a dark, faintly anisic sweetness that keeps the composition from reading as simple candy.

The base is the familiar Oriental Vanilla architecture: vanilla dominant, patchouli, cashmere wood and cedar. Given the accord breakdown, expect vanilla and coffee to lead, with sweet and white floral support and a warm-spicy hum. It suits collectors who find the original Black Opium too heavy and want a brighter, more wearable variant, or fans of gourmand-orientals for evening and cool-weather wear. As a discontinued limited edition, bottles are increasingly a completionist purchase rather than a daily driver.
