Cuir Insolite is a 2013 unisex leather from Welton, built on a stark two-note opening of leather and violet. That pairing sets the tone: supple hide wrapped in cool, powdery floral sweetness. The heart adds jasmine and mock orange, lifting the composition with a bright, slightly honeyed white-floral hum while the leather remains the spine. In the base, white musk, benzoin and styrax take over, pushing the drydown toward ambered, balsamic resins with a distinctly animalic edge. The listed accords—amber, leather, powder, violet, musk, animalic—are all present, so expect a dense, old-school leather profile rather than a modern, airy one.
