Shams Narcissus

Shams Narcissus, launched in 2014 by Memo, is a unisex oriental built on a dense, layered structure. The listed notes read as a single continuous arc: narcissus, tolu balsam, agarwood, labdanum, saffron, ginger, styrax, pepper, cypriol, cashmeran, tonka bean and rose. There is no separate heart or base, so the composition behaves as an integrated whole from first spray to drydown. The main accords—amber at full strength, yellow floral, warm spicy, oud, balsamic and powdery—signal a rich, resinous profile with a pronounced floral core. Narcissus gives a green, slightly animalic yellow-floral character; saffron, ginger and pepper add dry heat; oud, labdanum, styrax and tolu balsam supply depth and a balsamic finish. Tonka and cashmeran soften the edges with a powdery warmth. This is not a fresh or office-safe scent. It suits collectors who enjoy vintage-style orientals, bold yellow florals, and oud-adjacent compositions. Best worn in cool weather or evening, and applied lightly, as the concentration of resins and spices can become overwhelming in heat or on fabric.
