Made to Measure arrived in 2013 as one of Gucci's more structurally ambitious masculine releases, and its pyramid rewards patient wearers. The opening is bright and herbaceous: lavender and Calabrian bergamot lead, lifted by Tunisian orange blossom and a distinct thread of anise that gives the top a slightly confectionary, licorice-tinged edge rather than a plain citrus snap. It reads fresh and spicy from the first spray, with aromatic lavender dominating the early minutes.

The heart shifts toward warmth and fruit: plum and juniper berries meet cinnamon and nutmeg, softened by a water lily note that keeps things from turning heavy. The base settles into leather, amber, patchouli and labdanum, giving a resinous, slightly sweet drydown that lingers close to skin. This suits collectors who enjoy oriental-spicy masculines with a fruity-spicy tension and don't mind a denser base. Best for cooler evenings, formal or smart-casual wear; sample first if you're sensitive to anise or heavy amber.
