Givenchy Gentleman Intense (2014) is a bold oriental woody for men who prefer depth over brightness. The opening is a sharp, green-tinged burst: birch leaf, black pepper, green mandarin, mint, pink pepper, and lemon. It's brisk and aromatic, but quickly gives way to a heart of leather, patchouli, Texas cedar, violet leaf, and coriander. The leather here is supple and slightly smoky, wrapped in earthy patchouli and dry cedar. As it dries down, the base reveals tonka bean, incense, amber, vetiver, sandalwood, and vanilla.
