Poison dip

Poison by Christian Dior (1985) opens with a dense, dark fruit accord of plum and wild berries, sharpened by coriander, anise and Brazilian rosewood. That fruity top is the first thing a collector will notice, and the listed accords put fruit at the very front of the composition. It does not stay light for long; the opening is a warning of what follows.

The heart is where Poison earns its reputation: tuberose and jasmine push a heavy white-floral mass against incense, white honey, cinnamon, opoponax, carnation, African orange flower and rose. The base settles into vanilla, amber, sandalwood, heliotrope, musk, vetiver and Virginia cedar, giving a sweet-ambery, woody finish that lingers. This is a big, sweet oriental floral with serious projection and sillage, best suited to collectors who want a bold 1980s statement rather than a quiet everyday scent. It rewards evening wear, cool weather and confident application; sample first if you are sensitive to heavy tuberose or honeyed amber.

Poison（1985）以李子、野莓的深色果香開場，配合芫荽、八角與巴西玫瑰木，果味濃郁而帶辛香。中調是它的重心：晚香玉與茉莉堆出厚重白花，再疊上乳香、白蜂蜜、肉桂、沒藥、康乃馨、非洲橙花與玫瑰，甜、暖、濃。基調落在香草、琥珀、檀香、天芥菜、麝香、岩蘭草與維珍尼亞雪松，收尾甜琥珀木質，留香與擴散都強。整體是張揚的東方花香，適合喜歡八十年代濃郁風格、想在晚間或秋冬突出氣場的收藏者；怕晚香玉或蜜甜琥珀的人宜先試香。
