Antaeus Pour Homme arrived in 1981 as Chanel's answer to the leather-chypre tradition, and it remains one of the house's most uncompromising masculine releases. The opening is bright but herbal rather than sweet: clary sage and coriander sit alongside bergamot, lime, Amalfi lemon and myrtle, giving a citrus lift that quickly turns green and aromatic.
