Eau de Californie arrived in 2019 as Celine's unisex chypre, and its structure is unusually front-loaded: every listed material — palo santo, moss, bergamot, orris and patchouli — sits in the top phase, with no separate heart or base declared. In practice that means the opening is the composition. Expect a dry, resinous woodiness from palo santo and patchouli, cut by bergamot's bitter citrus edge, then softened by orris and grounded in moss. The accord breakdown confirms the balance: woody at full weight, citrus close behind, then earthy, mossy and iris tones trailing into a quiet aromatic finish.
