Declaration by Cartier, launched in 1998, is a Jean-Claude Ellena composition that opens with bitter orange, caraway, and birch—a crisp, slightly smoky citrus. The heart weaves Guatemalan cardamom, pepper, ginger, iris, juniper, cinnamon, orris root, and jasmine into a spicy, floral bouquet. The base settles into Tahitian vetiver, tea, cedar, leather, oakmoss, and amber, creating a dry, woody foundation.
